It took about five trips to Blue Lake to finally get a great day for photographing it and that’s over a period of probably 10 years at least. Every time I ventured there it was either too windy, dirty snow, blizzard or white out. It was mainly the wind combined with the above mentioned issues that seem to always stop me from photographing. The outlet of Blue Lake seems to be a natural funnel for the surrounding landform and hence it seems, at least for me, to always be windy there.
So it was with great relief that I finally scored two calm days at Blue Lake. I’m really fond of Blue Lake for its uniqueness in both looks and feel and also the challenges of the previous failed trips that I had attempted.
