Amboseli National Park is a contrast of landscapes, you have the open dry plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland. This image was taken on the open dry plains that has a small cluster of moister starved acacia trees , some of the trees hadn’t been able to survive. Slowly making his way past one of these dead acacia trees was this bull elephant. I love the sense of how hard it is to survive in this shot, but with wisdom passed down through the ages, this elephant is able to thrive in this environment.
