I found these brumbies on the Cascade Trail, I started to take photo’s of them from a good 200 metres away thinking that at any moment they would take off, which had been my experience with brumbies in many other areas of the Kosciuszko National Park. But to my surprise as I got closer and closer they just stayed put. Then I was completely amazed that I was able to get in amoungst them and still photograph. They where that used to humans that I stayed with them for an hour, there was a moment when the stallion drove off a young male right past me. I remember saying to myself “well I guess its OK for me to hang out with you”. I was literally 10 feet away from this young brumby happily clicking away. It was a fantastic experience being able to be in amongst these wild brumbies and just be part of the mob.
