Once again I was at Davies Hut and had gone there specifically to photography brumbies. With me were two friends, Adam with a video camera and Mark from New Zealand visiting. We had found a mob of brumbies up on an open field on what felt like a plateau, so Adam and I hide in some bushes, Adam was further along the open area from the brumbies then I was, so Mark went around and behind them and pushed them down towards us. Amazingly it all worked to plan with the added advantage that the black stallion and his mob came past me, then down to where Adam was, upon seeing Adam, they run back past me again giving me a second chance at photographing them and it was this second chance that enabled me to capture this shot. I remember looking through the camera and seeing this beautiful powerful black stallion looking straight at me, it was a magic moment.
