This shot was taken at Fortune Bay on South Georgia, a sub Antarctic island. The brown ones are the juvenile King Penguin’s, they will eventually lose their brown feathers and turn into adult. The interesting thing was that it didn’t smell that much from their droppings, but it was November, the beginning of summer. The colony was at the edge of Fortune Bay in a huge valley that had ridges either side of the colony, as you see in the background of this shot. The wind was blowing a little up through the valley and they had their backs to the wind.
