I was with my family heading back to the Mara Serena Lodge, we where in the remote south western part of the Mara Triangle, I’d let my daughter drive, she was 16 years of age and had her American drivers license, but had never done any off road driving. So the journey was a little jerky and with a bit of gear grinding but for her first time she was doing a great job. The best thing about her driving was that I could fully concentrate on taking photo’s, which is when we came across this beautiful giraffe. They are the ladies of the plains, they look so regale and graceful until of coarse when they run. The late afternoon light was amazing and it was creating magnificent colour casts in the clouds behind the giraffe and on the giraffe, I was so elated to capture this shot as I had never seem a light quite like it.
